Welcome to EdgeTape. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and EdgeTape ("EdgeTape", "we", "us"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the service at edgetapejournal.com and any related products (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms.
1. What EdgeTape is
EdgeTape is a trading journal and analytics tool. You log your own trades and the Service returns metrics, grades, playbook summaries, and AI-generated coaching commentary. EdgeTape does not execute trades, hold funds, offer brokerage, or provide investment advice.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
3. Subscriptions, trials & billing
- Free tier requires no payment method.
- Paid plans (Edge) are billed monthly or annually in advance in USD. Prices are shown on the pricing page.
- A free trial converts automatically to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before the trial ends. Cancel any time from the Stripe billing portal linked in Settings.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges on your payment method until you cancel.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to your registered email. New pricing applies at the start of your next renewal period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service.
- Upload data you don't have the right to upload.
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the Service, or bypass rate limits and authentication.
5. Your data
You retain all rights to the trade data you enter. You grant EdgeTape a non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that data solely to operate the Service for you. Handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. AI coaching output
The AI Coach generates commentary from your logged trades. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and must not be treated as investment advice. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for a trading decision.
7. No investment advice
EdgeTape is a software tool. Nothing produced by the Service — metrics, grades, AI commentary, backtests, sample trades — constitutes investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or contract. Trading is speculative and can result in the loss of your entire investment. You are solely responsible for evaluating any decision you make.
8. Service availability
We provide the Service on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
9. Termination
You may cancel at any time from the billing portal. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, we may delete your data after a reasonable retention window described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EdgeTape disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. EdgeTape is not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold EdgeTape harmless from any claim arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which EdgeTape is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
